"Don Francisco" (Mario Kreutsberger) host of Spanish-language show Sabado Gigante is named Honorary Member of RHBA during the association holiday celebration on December 14th.
Juan Contreras, co-owner of Juan and Maria's Empanada Stop to receive international exposure, as they are featured in a segment titled "Ejemplo Hispano" on the popular Hispanic TV variety show "Sabado Gigante". Eduardo Navarro, CEO of EIC Electronics and President of RHBA was interviewed by local channel 13. on Saturday December 8th in reference to the upcoming appearance of Juan Contreras in the TV program Sabado Gigante and its relevance for the city of Rochester and the Hispanic business community.
Damaris Rivera announced the opening of her pet boutique "Pinky's Pet Connection" on the weekend of December 9. The new store, located at the newly renovated 55 Station building, near the Public Market, specializes in pet clothes, pet accessories and baked goods for dogs, and offers as well a pet sitting service.
Damaris was also featured in the "Up Close" section of the Sunday Business section of the Democrat and Chronicle.

NOVEMBER
In a ceremony that celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Latino Leadership Developent Program (LLDP), RHBA members Jessica Guzman (University of Rochester) and Kelly Tovar Mullaney (Working Art Media, RHBA Website Chair) were among the 25 graduates of the 2007 class. LLDP is a United Way program that promotes the enhancement of professional and personal skills as business and community leaders for Rochester Latinos.
Hilda Rosario-Escher, president and CEO of Ibero-American Action League, was named finalist for this year's Athena Award of the Women's Council. The winner will be announced on a luncheon on January 24, 2008 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. The award recognizes a Rochester-area professional woman who has demonstrated "significant achievements in business, community service and the professional advancement of women." The Women's Council is an affiilate of the Rochester Business Alliance.

LaBella Associates (Sergio Esteban, RHBA Past President), helps city turn Brownfield into LEED Gold: The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) has recently notified the City of Rochester that the City's New Water Operations Center located at 10 Felix Street has been awarded a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) GOLD rating. This new building is the first GOLD rated building in the City of Rochester and the first GOLD rated municipal building in New York State. LaBella Associates served as project architect, engineer and environmental consultant for this project.

Juan Contreras, the 2007 Hispanic Business Person of the Year, and owner of Juan and Maria's Empanada Stop at the pubic market, treated the family members of area US service men and women to free 'empanadas' on September 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Juan, who has two of his children serving in Iraq and has been sending thousand of empanadas to the troops. calling. Fabricio Morales, CEO of FM Office Express Inc. named as "Buffalo District Minority Small Business Person of the Year" by the U.S. Small Business Administration. He started his business in Buffalo in 1995 before moving to Rochester in 1999. Fabricio Morales is the 2006 RHBA Hispanic Business Person of the Year.
Manuel Rivera-Ortiz is the 2007 Arts Awards recipient for his extraordinary photographic work. Rivera-Ortiz, a photo documentarian who focuses his work on images of people of the Third world countries, is the first Hispanic artist to receive this award.
